Flamboyant trees

The Flamboyant trees are starting to flower - I consider them to be Durban's Christmas trees with their red-on-green - another reminder that Christmas is getting closer.

Tips

I've been thinking of these issues quite a lot recently:

1. If you lose/misplace your credit card, stop it immediately by phoning the relevant bank. Even if you get it back, it may be possible for someone to have written down all the details and use it online.
2. Be cautious when shopping online, especially when using your credit card. Is it a reputable site? Do they provide their contact details and a physical address (should you need to resort to legal procedures against the shop you may be required to send notice to a physical address by registered mail - this is the case in South Africa, I have no idea of the law in other countries).
3. Apply the same caution when replying to classified ads. Be comfortable about the people you are dealing with. It is reasonable to ask for references from other clients.
